Who do you rank as the best overall number 1 pick in the NFL? My personal choice is Bruce Smith. Given that 6 of the top 10 on rivals.com are QB's, it's hard to say that one QB is that much better than another. Smith is one of only two defensive players on the list (Lee Roy Selmon is the other). Although we know about their Super Bowl success rate, getting their 4 straight times is still pretty impressive and when you put that with his career sack numbers, I think he rates as the best number 1 overall pick.
