I think Pete Rose has payed his price for his mistake and now he should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. What do you think?

I agree. This is especially true, since almost all of his gambling on baseball occurred after he had retired as a player. I do wish he would act more sincerely apologetic, however. He doesn't seem to understand how serious his offense was.

No, he has failed to accept responsibility for his actions and that should exclude him in spite of how obvious his achievements are!

Until he comes forward with a full acceptance of responsibility for his actions and accounts for the full extent o what he did he needs to be kept from the hall of fame. Remember, he has never been fully forth coming about what he did, including his betting on his own games or baseball itself.

Until such time and then only with the commission of acts to educate others about it and to demonstrate a real effort to persuade others from similar lapse in judgment should he be considered.

Until then, he can just wait until the passage of time after his demise to be entered by a generation of people who were not affected by his actions.

Pete Rose shouldn't go in for the same reason Bonds and Clemens shouldn't. Joe Jackson belongs in ahead of all of them. He did less wrong than any of the others, so until he's in, none of the gamblers or steroid users should be in.
